The interaction process between alumina, chrome oxide and magnesite

firstly, according to the properties of raw materials, the samples were formed under high pressure and fired at high temperature. After burning, the samples were tested for resistance to molten steel corrosion by using the steelmaking mechanism of induction furnace. The microstructure of the eroded samples was observed with a reflective microscope. The results showed that the addition of Al2O3 and Cr2O3 was beneficial to the synthesis of magnesium aluminum spinel and magnesium chromium spinel in the matrix of periclase spinel material, but not conducive to the improvement of the corrosion resistance of periclase spinel material to molten steel. Through thermodynamic analysis, Al2O3, Cr2O3, mgcr spinel and MgAl spinel have high equilibrium oxygen content and large solubility in molten steel. Cr2O3 and mgcr spinel have higher equilibrium oxygen content in molten steel than Al2O3 and MgAl spinel, and are easier to decompose in molten steel
